Letter from the Pastor

Dear Family,

We are the temple of God, a dwelling of God in the Spirit. The church of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is the theatre of His power now! What a glorious calling to proclaim His excellencies to the world.

Jesus made this statement in the temple during the time of Passover: “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:19 He had just finished driving those who sold sheep and cattle out of the temple with a whip. He scattered the money changer’s coins and overturned their tables. He told the dove sellers to get the birds out of the temple and stop making His Father’s house a marketplace.

As the disciples witnessed this, they remembered the psalm, “Zeal for Your house will consume Me.” As the Jews witnessed this, they asked for a sign, wanting Jesus to show them His authority for doing such things.

John 2:21 says that Jesus was speaking of His body as God’s temple. The Son of Man was standing in a temple made by human hands. God’s glory was in it. But in Matthew Jesus told the Jews, “something greater than the temple is here.” Jesus declared that He had the fullness of Deity in Himself.

The temple of Jesus’ body was ‘destroyed.’ After 3 days that temple was raised up to live forevermore. Jesus is alive and seated at the Father’s right hand. He is the head of the church, which is His body, the temple of God in the earth!

This temple is made of living stones. Believers are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for God’s own possession. We are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Ephesians tells us that we are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. “To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen!” Eph. 3:21

My prayer is that you will experience resurrection life personally, and in a body of believers in a local church. That life is in you through Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank you God for rivers of living water!

God bless you,
Pastor Chris
